Melinda Parsons Performing in Melbourne

Sydney born Soprano Melinda Parsons was the winner of the Mietta Song Competition in 2000 and has since performed in opera and concert houses in every German speaking country and in many other countries around the world. 

In 2013 she had a number of premieres including her her first appearance in Brazil singing opera, operetta and musicals for the open air festival ‘Musica em Trancoso’ (Bahia) and was received extremely well by the public. She also made her first solo appearance at the Berlin Philharmonic singing excerpts from Handel’s ‘Messiah’ conducted by Simon Halsey with the Radio Orchestra of Berlin. 

Other highlights of last year included her performance of musical and opera excerpts with ‘ORSO, the Rock Symphony Orchestra ‘ at Friedrichstadtpalast, Berlin in May and in August in Ötigheim, which holds Germany’s largest open air stage.
